Cuvaison winemaker Steve Rogstad

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – December 3, 2019 – Napa Valley’s family-owned Cuvaison Estate Wines is excited to announce a new partnership with Carneros Resort and Spa that will allow guests to enjoy in-suite tasting experiences led by Cuvaison’s acclaimed winemaker, Steve Rogstad. Called “Wine-In with Carneros,” the new program features two intimate in-suite tasting options, The Wine Journey and Farm to Vine. Offered in the privacy of one of Carneros Resort and Spa’s beautiful 2,400-square-foot luxury private homes, these special by-appointment tastings are available exclusively to guests of the resort. Hosted by Steve, both tastings provide guests a rare opportunity to taste alongside Cuvaison’s winemaker as they explore the historic winery’s renowned portfolio of wines.

“Here at Cuvaison, we have always strived to be at the forefront in terms of offering unique and immersive wine experiences,” says Jaki Palacios, Cuvaison’s director of marketing and direct to consumer. “This means engaging with wine lovers in exciting and unexpected ways. Wine-In with Carneros is a rare opportunity for guests of the resort to meet, learn our story, and taste with one of Napa Valley’s most respected winemakers in the comfort of their own guest house. We are thrilled to be partnering with Carneros Resort and Spa to offer this one-of-a-kind experience.”

Founded in 1969, Cuvaison is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Family owned for five decades, Cuvaison was one of the earliest pioneers of cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Napa Valley, and played a pivotal role in establishing Los Carneros as a world-renowned wine region. As Cuvaison’s winemaker since 2002, Steve is a master of Los Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and has earned acclaim for crafting wines recognized for their seamless balance and vineyard-inspired depth and complexity.

Offered in the comfort of the 28-acre resort’s luxurious, two- and three-bedroom private homes, guests may select one of two tasting experiences. During The Wine Journey ($185 per person), Steve will guide guests through a flight of five small-production wines, with a focus on Cuvaison’s exceptional estate-grown Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Guests may also select Farm to Vine ($365 per person), which includes a private tasting showcasing five of Cuvaison’s most alluring estate-grown wines paired with seasonal bites created by the resort’s Executive Chef Aaron Meneghelli and sourced from the resort’s onsite culinary garden. These special experiences are available through spring of 2020, and guests of Carneros Resort may book their Wine-In with Carneros tasting by contacting concierge@carnerosresort.com.

“As the only resort located within the Carneros region, we aim to provide guests with exceptional experiences that also spotlight the unique Los Carneros AVA we are proud to call home,” says Carneros Resort and Spa’s Managing Director Edward Costa. “Partnering with Cuvaison allows resort guests to enjoy this first-time elevated wine tasting experience in an atmosphere unlike any other. Our luxury private homes provide the perfect setting for those looking to indulge their senses, all the while receiving a curated tasting by the winemaker himself in the comfort of their own residence.”
