Dry Creek Vineyard prints sustainable sourcing info on its corks.

Dry Creek Vineyard in Healdsburg, Calif., has been awarded a patent related to the design of printed sustainable sourcing information on its cork wine closures. The corks are laser printed with information about their source (including harvest date, age of the cork forest, and habitat information about animals native to those regions).

In a press release, company President Kim Stare-Wallace said, “I wanted to provide valuable knowledge to consumers about our sustainability efforts and the benefits of cork closures. …It’s important to communicate our ‘no compromises’ philosophy on every aspect of our packaging.
