Skurnik Wines & Spirits, a New York-based importer and distributor of fine wines and spirits, has opened its first West Coast office in San Francisco. The new venture, Skurnik Wines West, will be a full-fledged distributor with a refrigerated warehouse and a fleet of temperature-controlled trucks delivering throughout California. Industry veteran Brian Sypher will lead the operation as general manager.
“For years, our winery partners have been practically begging us to expand into California,” said President/CEO Harmon Skurnik in a prepared statement, “and we never do anything until we’re ready to do it right. In 2017, we’re now ready. It’s very exciting.”
Skurnik Wines West already has a large client list of wineries from California, Oregon, France, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, and Australia, many of which are also long-time clients of the East Coast company, which is celebrating its 30th year in business in 2017.
