The Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS) has named Kevin Smith, CPA/MBA, senior vice president of finance and administration. He replaces Jean Gooding, who retired after nearly 20 years with DSC.
Smith most recently served as CFO of the United Way of the National Capital Area for three years; before that, he spent more than two decades in financial leadership roles at the Pew Charitable Trust and the Fannie Mae Foundation.
Upon the announcement, Smith remarked, “While widely recognized as a leader in advocating for the beverage alcohol sector at the state, federal, and international levels, I’m also proud to join an organization that promotes responsibility and moderation.”
