Salcombe Gin, the award-winning spirits brand based in South Devon, has received a third Double Gold Medal at The San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020 with Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’.

THE SAN FRANCISCO WORLD SPIRITS COMPETITION 2020

This year, The San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded 19 Double Gold Medals to gin entries from a total of 3,000 admissions from brands competing from across the globe.
‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is one of only two pink gins in the world to have ever achieved a Double Gold Medal at the prestigious awards, widely recognised as the Oscars in the spirits world.
In 2017, Salcombe Gin received the same accolade for its renowned ‘Start Point’ and then in 2019 for its Voyager Series ‘Mischief’.

‘ROSÉ SAINTE MARIE’
Like all Salcombe Gin products, ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ centres on the taste, balance and aroma of the spirit, drawing inspiration from the nautical heritage and spirit of adventure of the famous Salcombe Fruit Schooners.

Inspired by the aromas, flavours and lifestyle of the South of France, ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is a celebration of adventure, colour, freshness and joy; capturing the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean coast.

Unlike the majority of ‘pink’ gins on the market. ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ has no added sugar, no artificial colourings and no artificial flavours, creating a vibrant, fresh and delicate dry gin.
The award-winning rosé gin is distilled with traditional juniper that provides structure in the background partnered with a natural, but not overpowering, soft sweetness from strawberries and angelica. Twelve further hand sourced botanicals including lemon verbena, fresh lemon and orange peels, rose petals, orange blossom and pink peppercorns are combined to create a truly exceptional gin that is elegantly soft and smooth.

Angus Lugsdin, co-founder of Salcombe Distilling Co, comments: “It’s such an honour to receive this Double Gold Award as the only English pink gin to have ever won a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ stands out from the crowd in a market that is commonly filled with overly sweet, sugary and synthetically coloured and flavoured competitors so it’s great to see the quality of the liquid recognised through this prestigious award.”

“We set out to elevate the category, creating a real ‘pink’ gin. A nod to the crisp and dry rosé wines from Provence. It is a very exciting time for the brand and the Double Gold Award positions us in great stead for our launch into the US market this summer, where the rosé trend is set to for significant growth.”

‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is the perfect addition to your home bar this summer and can be paired with a premium Indian tonic water for a refreshing G&T. Garnish with a slice of strawberrry, a twist of lemon peel or both, depending upon your preferred level of sweetness.

Salcombe Gin ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’ is available for home delivery at www.salcombegin.com/shop or via Amazon Prime for £40.00/70cl bottle.

This is the only pink gin to be stocked at Scott’s of Mayfair and other prestigious venues in London.
