Forget what you know about traditional wine tastings—the world’s biggest jam-packed pinot party is coming to Los Angeles for the first time ever this fall. In time for California’s Crush, a huge lineup of some of the most innovative and interesting wine producers from across the globe will descend to showcase the wonderful world of pinot noir when international wine festival Pinot Palooza makes its U.S. debut on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at downtown’s L.A.’s City Market Social House.

Welcoming pinot nerds and novices alike, Pinot Palooza is the ultimate wine day out, and the L.A. leg marks the first-ever US edition of the festival that has changed the game for wine lovers, one glass of pinot at a time.

After winning over wine fans around the world with its rule-breaking, fun-first approach, Pinot Palooza is set to bring the hype to L.A. this September with an epic line-up of some of the New World’s best pinot noir. Audiences can choose from over 100 wines from different regions, with 40 producers on hand from Sonoma, Oregon, Australia, and New Zealand to enjoy over the course of six festive hours. Added to the mix will be boutique spirits, craft beer, and a range of curated bites from some of the city’s leading chefs and restaurants –along with a killer soundtrack from local DJs and the same raucous festival spirit that has seen Pinot Palooza re-write the script on how the world approaches good wine.

Since launching in Australia in 2012, Pinot Palooza has grown to become one of the world’s best-loved annual wine events thanks to the bold global vision of REVEL’s garrulous Australian founder and creator, Dan Sims. This year, the festival will tour six countries and thirteen cities across the globe and is gearing up to add New York and Shanghai to the tour in 2020.

“Bringing Pinot Palooza to the U.S. has been on our wish list since the very beginning,” says Sims. “So, to finally be in L.A. for the first time, and to welcome Angelenos to our big, noisy, pinot party is a dream come true.”

Taking wine to places it might not otherwise go, the festival is a win-win for wine lovers and for producers: “Our vision for the L.A. event is to showcase pinot noir from top U.S. producers alongside those made by our good mates in Australia and New Zealand, and to present all that to an American audience in way that celebrates what’s so special about the grape,” adds Sims. “The atmosphere we create helps to make wine more accessible, and it allows people to find what they like and get excited about the world of pinot.”

And in line with REVEL’s mission to overthrow the intimidating, stuffy approach that many wine tastings took in days gone by, Sims is dedicated to making sure people have “a bloody good time” at REVEL events. Notes Sims, “These events are all about throwing out the rule book and just encouraging people to find and explore the wines they love – plus, we know how to throw a really good party.”
