We’re trying to figure out why Talk Like a Pirate Day (9/19) and Rum Punch Day (9/20) are on separate days. This makes no sense! Because we all know, once you dive into that rum punch, you’ll be talking like a pirate in no time. You can make rum punch will all sorts of variations. Here’s a simple recipe to get you started:
1.5 oz white rum
2 oz each of pineapple and orange juice
.5 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz dark rum
Add ingredients, in order, into a tall glass filled with ice, finishing with a float of dark rum (pour it slowly over the back of a spoon to get the float effect). Garnish with a stirring stick and any sliced fruit, such as the lime you just used for its juice. Bottoms up!
