Rabbit Hole Distillery, the highly anticipated bourbon distillery in downtown Louisville, is excited to announce the official launch of public tours on Wednesday, August 8. Life at the distillery has been thriving following the ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration of the 55,000 square foot distillery campus in May, and the team has been hard at work preparing to open the doors all while producing spirits at full capacity. Now Rabbit Hole is thrilled to welcome guests from all corners of the globe to experience the comprehensive tour program. Rabbit Hole designed these tours to be unlike any other found in bourbon county – or the U.S. – with a foundation built on hospitality, education and immersion. From that first sip of bourbon to witnessing the magic of the stunning 24-inch copper column still and ending with the best view of Louisville’s skyline in town, there is no going back for Kentucky’s bourbon landscape.

Out of nothing… on a place that was a run-down warehouse and a vacant lot, there is now a building that raises the bar in the science of distillation and the art of hospitality. As guests enter the distillery, they will feel as though they are entering a friend’s home. Upon beginning each tour, guests are greeted with a taste of Rabbit Hole’s signature Kentucky Bourbon, the cornerstone of their spirits collection. After this initial taste, guests enter Rabbit Hole’s expansive home and trace the path of distillation from grain to glass while learning about the intricate philosophies and values of the brand. Each and every step in the age-old process of producing America’s native spirit will be showcased throughout the tour. Led by a staff of knowledgeable guides, tourgoers will also encounter professional distillers in action and have the opportunity to ask questions about each stage of the process – from how the distillery produces 20,000 barrels annually, to the science behind perfecting flavor profiles and more.
Tours will end in OverLook, Rabbit Hole’s signature tasting and cocktail bar, for a showcase of the most important part of the distilling process – sharing a glass of bourbon among new friends. The post-tour tasting at OverLook encompasses the entirety of Rabbit Hole’s spirits collection, where guests are guided through an immersive journey into each of the four products all included in the tour price of $23 – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey, Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in PX Sherry Casks – Fingerprint Edition and London Dry Gin Kentucky Rye Barrel Finish – Fingerprint Edition. The guided tasting also teaches guests how to taste bourbon with all five senses, utilizing a take home tasting wheel sharing insight on the process that professionals use to taste spirits.
Following the tasting guests are invited to linger at OverLook, which serves an exceptional cocktail program in partnership with Proprietors LLC – the mixology masterminds behind NYC’s Death & Co and L.A.’s The Walker Inn. The chic space with interior design inspired by the signature style of South Beach offers stunning views of downtown Louisville ensuring guests will be in no hurry to head to their next destination. Menu highlights include This Is America (Rabbit Hole Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey, Apple Brandy, Sweet Corn Orgeat, lemon juice), The Big Blossom (Rabbit Hole Kentucky Straight Rye, Sakura & Cherry Blossom Teas, plum wine, sweet vermouth, maraschino) and Niles Crane (Rabbit Hole Bourbon Finished in PX Sherry Casks, Salted Caramel Cordial, Amontillado Sherry, toasted pecan bitters.)
Tours are offered Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
