NEW YORK, NY (January 14, 2020)— In a category that has been experiencing explosive growth and highly publicized shortages, Tenjaku Japanese Whisky announces its entry into the U.S. market. The 80 proof/40% ABV whisky carries an MSRP of $39.99.
Tenjaku Japanese Whisky is imported by MHW Ltd., Manhasset, NY. Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits will distribute the brand in 33 markets along with Fedway in NJ, Major Brands in MO, Empire Distributors in GA and TN.
The brand is being managed in the U.S. by Route to Market LLC. Craig Kodish CEO of route2mkt.com and Managing Director of Tenjaku USA commented, “The excitement and interest in the Japanese Whisky category in the U.S. is enormous with over 40% growth in 2018 and we expect similar if not greater growth to be reported for 2019. Tenjaku Japanese Whisky boasts a unique persona with a liquid characterized as having “clarity, precision and symmetry” reflecting the culture of the company and the country that produces it. The mash bill is 86% corn and 14% barley, and the blend is crafted under the careful supervision of celebrated master distiller Kenji Watanabe. The production site overlooks Mt. Fuji and the brand is crafted from locally sourced grains and water reflecting the terroir of the region.
In regard to the issue of inventory availability, Kodish stated: “We see no problems in being able to respond to demand, this brand will definitely not be on allocation,” Kodish stated.
