Women of the Vine & Spirits, an international trade organization dedicated to encouraging women in the alcohol beverage industries, has formed a partnership with the Distilled Spirits Council. As part of the arrangement, 11 DSC staff members will join the WOTVS board.

“Women of the Vine & Spirits is the only trade organization to advance and support the careers of women in the alcohol beverage industry,” said organization founder Deborah Brenner in a prepared statement. “I’m pleased to welcome the Distilled Spirits Council as one of our valued partners in this shared mission.”

Added Kraig R. Naaz, president/CEO of DSC, “Deborah is advancing an admirable cause in the beverage community by creating a forum for women to network, exchange ideas, and foster mentoring relationships.”

WOTVS has also announced its expansion into Europe. Confirmed advisory board members for the region include Stephanie J MacLeod, master blender at Bacardi’s John Dewar & Sons; Marilisa Allegrini, Allegrini Estates CEO; Beatrice Cointreau, owner and CEO at Admirable Wines; Margaret Henriquez, president and CEO at Krug Maison de Champagne; Stevie Kim, VinItaly International managing director; and Jancis Robinson MW, wine writer and critic.
