NAPA, CA – Cornerstone Cellars, one of Napa’s premier boutique wineries with an extensive fan following, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest tasting room located in the heart of bustling downtown Napa. The beautifully appointed 1,900 square foot retail space at 1465 First Street is across the street from the Andaz Hotel and next door to Oenotri Restaurant.
The Cornerstone Cellars tasting room in downtown Napa is the second for the winery, joining an already existing tasting room located at the The Village at Vista Collina Resort in south Napa. The luxurious environment is ideal to showcase its wine portfolio and share its winemaking philosophy with longtime club members and new guests. Cornerstone Cellars offers traditional tastings of its exclusive, small lot wines hosted by a team of knowledgeable wine educators; or just enjoy a glass (or bottle) of wine in the comfort of the sumptuously decorated lounge.
“We wanted to create a luxurious yet comfortable space for guests to enjoy our wines right here in the heart of downtown Napa,” said Angelica de Vere Mabray, CEO of Cornerstone Cellars. “We are thrilled to see the downtown area so full of life. The wide array of restaurants, retail, wine bars and events are a big draw for visitors and we felt it incredibly important to have Cornerstone Cellars right in the middle of it all,” she added.
Cornerstone Cellars, owned by Memphis, TN, based Dr. Michael Dragutsky, dates back to 1991, when the winery released its first vintage of Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon in collaboration with the renowned, Randy Dunn. With veteran Winemakers Charles Thomas and Kari Auringer currently at the helm, Cornerstone Cellars enjoys high praise and top accolades on its entire portfolio of wine. The winemaking team crafts several 100% Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings from the same regions and vineyards they sourced from during their first vintages, including; Howell Mountain, Atlas Peak, Calistoga and Oakville.
Over the course of its nearly three decades existence, Cornerstone Cellars has been extremely mindful of its vineyard sourcing as well as portfolio offerings. Today, Cornerstone Cellars continues to reflect a focused winemaking philosophy in which all decisions are made with vineyard selection as the utmost importance. Established long term relationships with key growers in some of the best wine growing regions allow Cornerstone Cellars to secure high-quality grapes and craft a stunning array of elegant wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé.
The downtown Napa tasting room is open Sunday, Monday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. as well as Friday and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reservations can be secured by sending an email to info@cornerstonewines.com , booked online via OpenTable.com or by calling 707.945.0388.
