Hermosillo Family Debuts Pinot Noir

Exclusive Family Owned Producers Tap Local Sonoma Community

To Bring Wine Dreams to Life

Santa Rosa, CA (MAY 8, 2020) – The Hermosillo Family is debuting their first vintage 2018 Pinot Noir wine from the Russian River Valley. Producers Shawn and Cynthia Hermosillo had a vision and passion to support and celebrate the Santa Rosa community by focusing on growing and producing everything locally.

“After the Tubbs Fire destroyed our home in October 2017, we took a few months to reflect and re-evaluate our lives ambitions,” said Shawn Hermosillo, owner Hermosillo Family Wines. “Not only was our ambition was to create a delicate and luxurious Pinot Noir, but also to highlight and champion to the resilient Santa Rosa community by producing and sourcing locally throughout the journey to create our wine.”

The Pinot Noir grapes were grown alongside the notable Russian River Valley and three different vines were selected to blend in this inaugural production. The grapes were handpicked in early August 2019 and 1500 bottles have been produced. The launch price is 4 bottles for $100 with shipping available in the U.S.

The namesake of the wine, Hermosillo Family Wines, represents a family-first, locally sourced approach to wine production. Shawn and Cynthia aspire to produce Pinot Noir for the next three years and then expand to additional varietals like Nebbiolo and Sauvignon Blanc.

“We are incredibly proud of our first Pinot Noir and everything it represents for our family and community,” said Cynthia Hermosillo, owner. “The wine was born from a dream that came to light through some very difficult times when we had to become more resilient, more in touch with bonding with our family and friends to rebuild our lives and our community after the Tubbs fire. Eventually, we saw how the fires ignited a dream for our family. We had a passion to keep things local to better the community that we love so much.”

The main elements of the wine production can be done within a 10 mile radius as the grapes and winery are within one mile of the Hermosillo home. An array of local partners have helped bring the wine to life whether designers, lawyers, printers, among others. Hermosillo Family Wines will partner with local health coach, Katie Gross, to bring vegan pairings to the table and recipes will be posted on the website and Instagram page.

Shawn is a Santa Rosa native, who has lived in the community his entire life and has been running a real estate business, The Hermosillo Group. Cynthia spent nearly two decades building a career in pharmaceutical sales on the east coast and in Southern California. After the couple wed in Santa Rosa in 2016, they decided to grow and raise their family in the region. They currently have two sons and their second son was born the exact same month as the debut wine was bottled.
