The Lakes Distillery’s iconic Steel Bonnets blend of English malt and Scotch malt whisky and The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur have secured placements as the number of its products stocked at World Duty Free expands.
Steel Bonnets launched in World Duty Free’s specialist World of Whiskies stores and The Lakes Elderflower Gin Liqueur joined the range in main World Duty Free stores. The Lakes Rhubarb & Rosehip Gin liqueur crackers are a seasonal addition to the range and are perfect for Christmas gifting.
The award-winning portfolio continues to perform well in World Duty Free. In Spring 2017, World Duty Free introduced The Lakes Gin and The ONE whisky which proved popular with customers. The Lakes Explorer Gin and The Lakes Rhubarb & Rosehip Gin Liqueur followed in Spring 2018.
Passengers from around the world have experienced activations live in Newcastle, London Gatwick North Terminal and Manchester Terminal 1 (in Manchester stores are branded BIZA Tax & Duty Free) at experiential high-profile promotion sites, learning about the DNA of Whisky making with the focus on Steel Bonnets and The ONE. Created with the highest quality malt whiskies from both sides of the border, Steel Bonnets is a combination of The Lakes Single Malt from England and some of the most respected malts from Scotland.
The name Steel Bonnets pays homage to the memory of the English and Scottish clans who lived in the Border Marches from Berwick-upon-Tweed in the East, to Carlisle in the West during the 13th-17th centuries and their clan names are demonstrating a great affinity in store.
