Partner to offer ten unique Cabernet Sauvignon wines in bottles depicting Vine Trail Map

NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – October 13, 2020 – The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition (www.vinetrail.org) is excited to announce a partnership with ten of Napa Valley’s premier wineries to produce a ten-bottle collection of Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines in support of the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Two exclusive Vine Trail Vintner Collection wines will be released annually, beginning with the unveiling of 2018 vintage wines from Alpha Omega and Vineyard 29 on October 13, 2020, and continuing the following years with releases from Spottswoode Estate (2021), Whitehall Lane (2021), Rocca (2022), Tamber Bey (2022), Gemstone (2023), Newton (2023), Crocker & Starr (2024) and Silver Oak (2024).

Founded in 2008, the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and maintaining a 47-mile Class 1 walking and bike trail system stretching from the Vallejo Ferry to Calistoga. Since its founding, the grassroots organization has raised $7.5 million in philanthropic donations, matched with $17 million in grants to complete the first 19 miles of the Vine Trail, and has scheduled 15 more miles for construction in 2021.

“The Vine Trail is about connecting our community in a way that makes it accessible and enjoyable for everyone,” says Chuck McMinn, the founder and board president of the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition and owner of Vineyard 29. “Even though it is not yet completed, the Vine Trail is already being used over 500,000 times a year by local residents and visitors. Now, with this extraordinary partnership between ten of Napa Valley’s most acclaimed wineries, we are offering wine lovers the opportunity to support the Vine Trail by acquiring ten once-in-a-lifetime wines, while providing all the remaining donations needed to complete the Vine Trail.”

Each of the ten wines in the Vine Trail Vintner Collection will be created by a different winery, with two new wines released annually in custom-designed Vine Trail bottles that collectively show the full map of the Vine Trail. Only 900 ten-bottle sets will be created. Also included with the Vintner Collection is a beautiful custom ten-bottle display rack that displays the set and the map perfectly.

The price for the wines will be $500 a bottle, with all proceeds going to complete the Trail. $400 from each bottle is available as a charitable donation. Each donation will be leveraged 3:1 with federal and state grant funds. Additionally, the Roger J. Trinchero Family Foundation and several other Vine Trail supporters will contribute $1,000 for each of the first 150 purchasers of the Vintner Collection.

In addition to providing a spectacular way to enjoy the scenic beauty of Napa Valley, the Vine Trail offers a host of other environmental and economic benefits, including a safe, car-free way of commuting, reduced traffic congestion, healthy lifestyle opportunities for all who use it, and public art and educational displays that reinforce the cultural and artistic history of the valley, while providing an estimated $198 million annual boost to the economy.

“Napa Valley is a very special place in the hearts of many of our customers,” says Spottswoode Estate President Beth Novak Milliken. “By supporting the Vine Trail, individuals from all over the country can help build something very integral and enduring in our community. Not only can they display this beautiful collection in their cellar, they can come to Napa Valley and walk or bike the scenic trail they are helping to create.”

The Vine Trail Vintner Collection will be offered to wine club and mailing list members of the ten participating wineries first, and will be available to the public on October 20, 2020, by visiting www.vinetrail.org/wine.
