SONOMA, California (October 27, 2020) – The Donum Estate, a leader in single-vineyard, single-appellation Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Northern California, today announced its new 20th Anniversary Catalog featuring unique library wine collections and a new Estate experience to kick-off the milestone. Donum’s terroir-driven wines reflect the energy and complexity of some of the most celebrated regions in Northern California including its Estate vines in Carneros, Anderson Valley, and the Russian River Valley. To mark its 2021 anniversary year, never-before offered reserve wine collections and formats are available designed to share for special occasions or as exceptional gifts, as well as a special Estate experience in the acclaimed wine region Carneros nestled between Napa and Sonoma Counties.

“For the past two decades, our passionate Donum team has been committed to our mission of producing the finest Pinot Noir in California,” says Angelica de Vere Mabray, Donum Chief Executive Officer. “The Donum 20th Anniversary Catalog is a tribute to our loyal fans who inspire us daily, yet we invite everyone to join along and discover how Donum is at the intersection of fine wine, sustainable farming and world-renowned art, as brought to life through these special and unique collections.”

The Donum 20th Anniversary Catalog features the Terroir Series, the Ai Weiwei Vertical, and The Gift of Donum collections, as well as two exclusive magnums. The Terroir Series represents each of Donum’s single-vineyard, single-appellation Pinot Noir from select Estate vineyards in Anderson Valley, Carneros, and Russian River Valley. The critically acclaimed 2017 vintages of Donum Carneros Estate, Anderson Valley and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir reflect the natural expression that shape the character and quality of each location and are presented in a beautiful collector’s box.

The Ai Weiwei Vertical collection plays homage to Donum’s large-scale sculptures on its Estate grounds. Like its fine wine, the Donum sculpture collection expresses a sense of place and connection between art, nature and the makers hand. In 2016, Donum commissioned the world-renowned artist, whose piece the Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads is prominently featured on the property, to create labels for the wines that present the vintage year with the respective Zodiac sign. The Ai Weiwei Vertical collection includes the 2015 Ten Oaks Pinot Noir from Donum’s Russian River Vineyard, the 2016 Angel Camp Vineyard Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley, and the 2017 Russian River Reserve Pinot Noir from the best-barrel selection from Donum’s Winside Vineyard, all displayed in a hand-crafted collector’s wooden box.

The Gift of Donum collection features two notable wines that represent Donum’s Carneros Estate vines–the 2016 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir and the 2017 White Barn Pinot Noir. The Donum Ranch covers the slopes of three hills in the Carneros region just north of San Pablo Bay. Nestled amid these hills is a 91-acre vineyard, planted to a diverse collection of Dijon clones and heirloom selections of Pinot Noir. The 2-acre site located next to Donum’s White Barn has stood out from the winery’s inception due to its unique exposure and slightly different soils resulting in a wine with light, delicate structure and a more red-fruit driven expression of Pinot Noir. These wines are also presenting in a custom Donum wooden gift box.

Lastly, select Donum magnums offered include a 2015 West Slope Pinot Noir and a 2014 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, each separately packaged in a Donum branded wooden gift box. The West Slope Pinot Noir is a top-rated, superior wine with unparallel depth. A Donum Member favorite, this wine is built on consistency and quality and presents the finest expression of Pinot Noir from the Carneros region. Russian River Valley Elegance features a special wine selection, not just from the best blocks within the Estate vineyard, but also the best barrels from within those lots. This rigorous selection allows the Donum winemaking team to craft a wine of extraordinary depth, intensity, and concentration, while at the same time staying true to the terroir of the vineyard.

On November 2, the Donum Estate will offer a new 60-minute experience that showcases Donum’s delicate balance among wine, land and art that has made it an international destination. The Carneros Experience starts with a sip of Rosé before guests are invited to taste through Donum’s award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Estate vineyards while on a walking tour that showcases its working farm, expansive lavender fields, and private open-air sculpture collection. This evolving collection brings together a global community of artists, including works from leading practitioners from 18 nations, across six continents including Ai Weiwei, Ghada Amer, Doug Aitken, Lynda Benglis, Louise Bourgeois, Keith Haring and Subodh Gupta.

In reflection of the Donum anniversary, the team continues looking ahead while acknowledging that the power for creating a better future is contained in the present. In support of its community, Donum is giving back to those impacted by the recent Northern California wildfires. Throughout the month of October, Donum is donating $10 for every order over $100 to the 2020 NorCal Wildfire Relief Fund. This Latino Community Foundation effort invests in reputable and impactful grassroots nonprofit organizations in Sonoma and Napa Counties. To learn more about Donum, please visit www.thedonumestate.com.
