FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Hood River Distillers, the Northwest’s oldest and largest importer, distiller, producer, bottler, and marketer of distilled spirits, is pleased to announce several of its high quality spirits are medal winners at the Sip Magazine’s 9th Annual Best of the Northwest Spirits Competition. Receiving the top Platinum award are Big Gin, Bourbon Barreled Big Gin, and Old Delicious Double Bourbon Barreled Apple Brandy. Gold medal winners are Peat Barreled Big Gin, McCarthy’s Oregon Single Malt, Trail’s End 8-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished with Oregon Oak and Clear Creek Pear Brandy. This year’s wins are extremely gratifying accomplishments for Hood River Distillers.

Founded in 1934, the 86-year-old family-owned company takes pride in producing high quality spirits at approachable prices, and for them, quality and taste are key. The seven spirits were tasted blind, with a panel comprised of the Northwest’s top palates, judges and professionals, in pursuit of the top picks for wine, beer, spirits and cider the region has to offer. As a result, the awarded beverages scored at a gold level and above, demonstrating that Hood River Distillers’ attention to detail and quality are paying off.
