The Cardiff-by-the-Sea Foundation, the 101 Mainstreets and the Harbaugh Foundation have partnered with the Taylor Steele and Solento Tequila to hold a raffle that will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Encinitas Support Fund. The raffle contains prizes from well renowned athletes in the action sports industry including a Rob Machado signed surfboard, Tony Hawk signed skateboard, Kelly Slater surfboard, Mark McMorris Snowboard, Todd Glaser Print, Mark Cunningham Signed Fins and a Sipping Jetstreams signed boxset.
When news broke that small businesses in our community were in trouble, Encinitas local Taylor Steele and his company Solento Tequila reached out to the 101 Mainstreets on how they could help. Steele says, “We created Solento as a way to connect with one another, to have more meaningful conversations, amongst all of the chaos. Nowadays, we are doing this apart, so we can be together again tomorrow. To ensure that our local businesses will be open for when that day arrives, we pulled together our Solento family to help support the people that make up the heart and soul of North County.”
The Encinitas Support Fund was first launched in response to the negative impact COVID-19 had on all the small businesses in the Encinitas community. Founding board member of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea Foundation, Trish Hilder says the support fund began by “working with our donor, the Harbaugh Foundation, to redirect our 2020 grant funds to create a grant program for businesses in our community. Small businesses make up the unique character of our town and it would be a huge loss for us all if they can’t survive this pandemic.” Funds raised by community donations and raffle tickets sold will be poured back into the community in the form of mini grants for local shops. Businesses need to apply via the support fund website to be considered to receive financial relief.
Raffle tickets costs $50 and can be purchased on www.encinitassupportfund.com for a chance to win ALL the prizes. This winner takes all opportunity does not limit the amount of raffle tickets purchased but only applies for individuals living in the US. The winner will be announced on Friday, June 12 by Rob Machado on the Solento Tequila Instagram page (@solento_tequila).
