Napa, Calif.-based WineCompliance.com provides personable, friendly assistance in English and Spanish for winery compliance with alcoholic beverage laws and regulations. “What makes us stand out is our great customer service and quick response time. We treat [a winery’s] compliance needs as if they’re our own,” says owner Eva Bedolla, who’s been in the wine industry since 1976.

Unlike many competitors, WineCompliance.com doesn’t charge a flat fee, instead opting for “a fair hourly rate.”

WineCompliance.com provides services for all phases of an alcohol beverage company, from safe start-up to all points of licensing for out-of-state wholesale or direct, state agency communication, distributor appointments, price postings, label registrations, COLA submissions, TTB and ABC communications, updating company information with agencies, exporting, and wholesale and direct ship reporting through software tools.

Bedolla says her company offers a “one person to one client” ratio, with staff that’s been with her company at least 12 years. “When someone contacts me, I provide them with a few licensing options based on the market plan. We have an in-depth conversation,” she says.

Bedolla recommends individuals interested in starting a winery identify the kind of legal business structure they want to have—and also make sure their property is zoned for the intended use.

“We help clients decide what would work best for them and offer them the most protection,” says Bedolla.
