RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY, Calif. – October 27, 2020 – Emeritus Vineyards is excited to announce that it has expanded its distribution partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits to include the key market of California. Emeritus has been partnering with both Southern Wine & Spirits and Glazer’s Inc. (which merged in 2016 to form Southern Glazer’s) since 2007, when the winery first debuted its wines. Prior to announcing this new expanded partnership, Southern Glazer’s represented Emeritus in 12 states, including such top markets as Texas, Florida and New York.

“My family’s relationships with both the Chaplin and Glazer families go back decades to when my father, Brice, was the owner of Sonoma-Cutrer, and it has continued at Emeritus,” says second-generation President Mari Jones. “Southern Glazer’s has been an invaluable and trusted partner to Emeritus, and has achieved exceptional results for us in key markets like Texas and Florida. They are a dynamic company, with a commitment to excellence, education and customer service that echoes our own values at Emeritus. Just as important, they are a company whose strengths are uniquely suited to helping us bring our Pinot Noirs to new customers and new regions, while helping us navigate the unique demands of today’s marketplace.”

Emeritus Vineyards was founded by legendary vintner Brice Cutrer Jones in 1999 with the goal of creating a grand cru-caliber estate capable of making the New World’s finest Pinot Noir. To achieve this goal, Jones and renowned Vineyard Manager Kirk Lokka planted two estate vineyards: Hallberg Ranch in the Russian River Valley, and Pinot Hill in the Sebastopol Hills. Totaling 150 acres of dry-farmed vines, these vineyards have emerged as two of California’s most revered winegrowing sites. Today, Emeritus is guided by Mari Jones, Lokka and acclaimed Winemaker Dave Lattin, and the winery is exclusively dedicated to making estate-grown Pinot Noir.

While Southern Glazer’s will now be distributing Emeritus in 13 states, the winery will continue to partner with other esteemed distributors in select markets, including RNDC in Colorado and Virginia, NDC in Georgia, Heritage Wine Cellars in Illinois, MS Walker in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, AHD Vintners in Michigan, Fine Wine Traders in North Carolina, Fedway Associates Inc. in New Jersey, Johnson Brothers in Hawaii and World Wide Wines in Connecticut.
