– Más Agave Grapefruit is the first variant of the popular 2019 release, Más Agave –

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., March 12, 2020  Founders Brewing Co. has announced that Más Agave Grapefruit will be the newest addition to the brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series. It begins as an imperial gose brewed with agave and sea salt before being aged in tequila barrels. Once it’s pulled from the barrels, it gets a dose of fresh grapefruit juice to ramp up the tanginess and to pay homage to the beloved tequila-based cocktail, the Paloma. Más Agave Grapefruit is sweet, salty, and mouth-puckeringly delicious. Más Agave Grapefruit is the first variant of the popular 2019 Barrel-Aged Series release, Más Agave.

“It’s no secret that I love a well-made margarita, but I’ve really fallen in love with the Paloma as of late,” said Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki. “Grapefruit is just so refreshing and it especially tantalizes my palate when it’s combined with tequila and salt. Those delicious flavors served as inspiration for Más Agave Grapefruit – another tequila cocktail brought to life in the world of barrel-aged beer.”

Más Agave Grapefruit will be available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles and on draft beginning on April 8 in the Grand Rapids taproom and on April 9 in the Detroit taproom. It will begin shipping out to the brewery’s entire distribution network the week of April 13. Taproom price will be $15/4-pack; prices will vary by market. Please note that Más Agave Grapefruit will not be available on draft in Utah.

The brewery is also excited to announce that Más Agave will return to the Barrel-Aged Series lineup in tandem with Más Agave Grapefruit. Inspired by the classic margarita cocktail, Más Agave is an imperial gose brewed with agave, lime and sea salt before being aged in tequila barrels. Like Más Agave Grapefruit, it will be available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles and on draft beginning on April 8 in the Grand Rapids taproom and on April 9 in the Detroit taproom. It will also start shipping to the brewery’s entire distribution network in mid-April. Taproom price will be $15/4-pack; prices will vary by market. Please note that Más Agave will not be available on draft in Utah.

“We didn’t really know quite what to expect when we launched Más Agave last year and the positive response from the beer community was a welcome surprise,” said Co-Founder and President, Dave Engbers. “When developing the brand calendar for 2020, we knew there had to be room for Más Agave to return, but we also wanted to release a variant since the original was such a success. Faced with that challenge, our brewing team hit it out of the park when they came back with Más Agave Grapefruit. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and tart, but gets an unmistakable kick from the tequila barrel-aging.”

Más Agave and Más Agave Grapefruit are the fourth and fifth releases, respectively, in the brewery’s 2020 Barrel-Aged Series. Stay tuned for more information on other releases in the 2020 Barrel-Aged Series throughout the year.
