You’re invited to raise a glass on Friday, June 15th to Chenin Blanc! A passion project of Division Winemaking Co.’s founders Thomas Monroe and Kate Norris, #DrinkChenin is back for its fifth year. This amazing and versatile wine varietal has remained on the fringes of the spotlight for too long and #DrinkChenin is back to bring this wine, beloved by the wine industry, to the center of the conversation. #DrinkChenin was launched in 2015 with the goal to make Chenin Blanc a household name. This year’s event will take place across 10 states, and 3 countries. Since its inception, Monroe and Norris have been on a mission to educate and share what’s amazing and undersung about this versatile wine with a great range and unique richness coupled with acidity. Spanning the globe, taste Chenin Blanc wines from notable growing regions including Oregon, Washington, California, France, South Africa, and more during special tasting events, curated flights and menu takeovers, experiencing the great breadth and variety of this storied grape.
There are so many great ways to celebrate, from Division Winemaking Company’s two Chenin wines (one of their most in demand wines!), to another tasty domestic or New World iteration, to one of the numerous delicious Loire wines from producers both storied and young.Monroe and Norris will host a complimentary tasting where #DrinkChenin started, at Portland’s Southeast Wine Collective from 5 – 7 p.m. on June 15th. This free event will offer tastes of 10 French, South African and United States-produced Chenin Blancs.
