Lonerider Spirits was awarded a gold medal by the American Distilling Institute (ADI) for their bourbon whiskey collaboration with the Lonerider Brewing Company.

The award was for Lonerider Spirits’ first beer barrel finished spirit is a cask finished straight bourbon whiskey. This straight bourbon is finished in ex-bourbon barrels that once aged “Deadwood” – an award-winning barrel aged Russian nitro stout created by the Lonerider Brewing Company.

Medals awarded by the American Distilling Institute are judged by a mixture of distillers, wholesalers, importers, retailers, bartenders, educators, and journalists/writers. The scoring of spirits is based on a 100-point system and each judge assigns an overall score which is correlated to a medal recommendation or no medal recommendation for each spirit.

“We enjoyed collaborating on this spirit with the Lonerider Brewing Company and are pleased that we brought home a medal,” says Chris Mielke, President of Lonerider Spirits. “Hopefully this will be the first of many successful collaborations with the Lonerider Brewing Company.”

“Deadwood” also has won a silver medal in the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, a silver medal in the 2020 Fifty Best Competition and a bronze medal in the 2020 Denver International Spirits Competition.
